Photography has always been more than just a job to me—it’s my way of freezing time, of giving families and couples a chance to look back and relive some of their most meaningful moments. But I also know that professional photography can feel out of reach for some families.
That’s why I decided to offer Pay What You Can sessions.
These sessions grew out of a simple belief: everyone deserves to have their memories captured beautifully. Whether it’s a child’s laughter, a couple’s engagement, or just the everyday magic of family life, those moments shouldn’t be limited to only those who can afford premium pricing.
What is a
Pay what you can session?
Here’s how it works:
- Sessions are short and sweet—perfect for families, couples, or individuals who just want a little slice of time captured.
- I ask for a $25 deposit to hold your spot. Beyond that, you pay what you can. For some, that might mean paying the full rate for a 15 minute session ($100), for others it may be less—and that’s okay. Anything additional is considered a tip and is always appreciated.
This allows me to open my books to 12 families per month who might not otherwise book professional photos.
Why I do this
I started these sessions because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful a single photo can be. After losing my brother, I came to understand in a deeper way just how much images matter. They become treasures. They carry stories. And they are worth keeping—no matter someone’s financial situation.
These sessions are my way of giving back, of living out my belief that photography is not just a luxury, but a gift to be shared.
The Impact
What amazes me most is the response. Every time I announce Pay What You Can minis, they book quickly. Families tell me how grateful they are. Parents who worried they couldn’t afford updated family pictures are relieved to have new portraits of their kids. Couples who are starting fresh in life walk away with photos that truly feel like them.
And the truth is, these sessions bless me too. They remind me why I started this journey in the first place—to connect with people, to tell their stories, and to make sure their memories live on.
My Hope For You
Whether you book a Pay What You Can session or a full package, my hope is always the same: that you walk away with images that make you smile, tear up, and relive your moments again and again.
Your memories matter. Your story matters. And you deserve to see it beautifully preserved. 💕
